The Arizona Cardinals have signed running back Chris Rainey and cornerback Teddy Williams to the practice squad.
The team placed running back Dominique Williams on the practice squad injured list with a knee injury and released wide receiver Kevin Cone from the unit to make room for the new players.
Rainey was drafted in the 5th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012. That season he had 26 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns and 14 receptions for 60 yards. He played two games with the Indianapolis Colts in 2013, where he had six kick returns for 131 yards and four punt returns for 29 yards.
This is Williams’ second stint with Arizona. He played three games as a wide receiver for the Cardinals in 2013, catching one pass for 51 yards. Williams spent the preseason with Arizona where he was moved to cornerback, but was released in the Cardinals’ final roster cuts on Aug. 30.
Williams began his career with Dallas Cowboys, where he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 after being a track and field star at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
