The games may not count but that doesn't mean people aren't interested.

The Arizona Cardinals preseason opener against the Houston Texans drew a 12 rating and 24 share.

The ratings were up nearly 50 percent over 2013. The total household audience was 222,000.

The game was also the most-watched TV show of any kind in Phoenix, with "60 Minutes" being the next closest at 159,000 houses.

Ratings for the team's game against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday aren't available yet.

This Sunday the Cardinals host the Cincinnati Bengals on national TV for NBC's "Sunday Night Football."

The game can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
