For those who were counting on Joshua Cribbs becoming the latest member of the Arizona Cardinals -- not so fast.

According to a report from Will Burge of ESPN Cleveland, the two-time Pro Bowl kick returner failed his physical during a free agent visit with Arizona.

ESPN Cleveland has learned from multiple sources that the delay in Cribbs signing is because he failed his physical with the Cardinals on Monday. It is unclear at this time what may have been the cause of the failed physical and if this will deter Arizona from signing the nine year NFL veteran.

Cribbs' agent, J.R. Rickert, confirmed the report to USA Today. Cribbs had off-season surgery on his knee and isn't fully recovered according to Rickert, who also believes the Cardinals will administer another physical examination on his client in a few weeks.

There were several reports in the last week that Cribbs was on his way to Arizona to sign a free agent deal with the Cardinals.

Cribbs made national news last week when he posted a farewell to the fans of Cleveland on his Instagram account. Cribbs has spent his entire eight-year career with the Browns.

The Kent State product has 11 kick and punt return touchdowns in his career.

    it's not like this one was the make it or break it deal this off-season. He'd be a nice addition but who knows now!

    Cards should just move on. He could make up for losing LSH on the return game, but he's not essential since we already have PP. He's also a poor receiver. Would rather see the money spent elsewhere.

    We do not want PP returning kicks, he is more valuable as our #1 CB. Second, PP did not return kick offs, he was used primarily on punt returner so we basically do not have anyone on the roster that is an every day kick returner. Finally, he is one of the best in the game at return yards. It would be nice for the Cards to start with the ball near the 30 instead of near the 20 or less.

    What we would pay for a top tier lineman is WAY more than what we would "save" by not signing Cribbs. Cribbs is going to be way cheaper. Just look at Long's deal. Which by the way is for a lineman who has underperformed and proved to be fragile. Even with his injury history he still got a deal we would never have done. Moreover, there are possibly 4 offensive linemen who could go in the top 10 in this draft. They are cheaper, younger, and healthy, and seem to be a much much better way to improve the line without spending the whole cap.

    Maybe I missed it but although he was po'd at the low contract offer from the Cards and would likely sign elsewhere, I hadn't seen that he actually landed with another team. Did he?
