The Arizona Cardinals have added another free agent.

The news was first broken by one of the player's new teammates.

The deal is for one year.

Shaughnessy, 26, is a four-year pro out of Wisconsin whom the Raiders selected in the third round of the 2009 draft.

Last season, Shaughnessy started all 16 games for the Raiders, compiling 31 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. In his career, the 6-foot-5, 285 pound defensive end has 123 total tackles and 15.5 sacks.

I don't know a whole lot about this guy but the numbers look pretty good. I know a lot will be addressed in the draft but I'm still curious how they are going to shore up the O line and DBs... especially if the draft a QB in the top 3 rounds. Right now it looks like a lot of rookies and 2nd year guys like Potter and Fleming are going to hold down the fort.

I like this signing as well. A lot of 1 year contracts at reasonable dollars. Good for this year, but makes me worry next year. If these guys perform well their value will rocket and they wil lleave

He will have better numbers with us. He came from the Raiders and was probably on the top of their scouting list. He will come here and will have less attention because of Campbell being on the other side.

    Soft Market Move
...this was definately a good move considering DE's are going pretty cheap right now. Thumbs up!

Cards seem to be doing some solid things. Looks like they did their homework too. Looking forward to seeing all these guys on the field next year.
