The Arizona Cardinals' rumored interest in quarterback Drew Stanton now has validity.

Yahoo NFL reporter Jason Cole tweeted Tuesday night that Drew Stanton had arrived in the Valley and plans to meet with the Cardinals.

Stanton spent last season as the Indianapolis Colts' backup quarterback.

The free agent signal caller has ties to new Cardinals' head coach Bruce Arians, who was the Stanton's offensive coordinator with the Colts in 2012.

He has thrown for 1,158 yards, five touchdowns and nine interceptions in the NFL.

    Stanton was the next QB taken after Kolb in the 07 draft.

    Stanton is the best we can do? You might as well keep Skelton if you're going to bring in Stanton. I'm beginning to wonder about the new regime.

    Bidwill is looking to spend $5M for Whiz while he isn't here....and take a hit when Kolb gets cut! They won't spend this year for anything! On another note...the Bucs inquired about a trade for Mallett today...looks like Josh Freeman is on the bubble.

    I'm so tired of people hating on the new regime. Skelton SUCKS. Stanton therefore is an upgrade. Let these guys do some work before you start "wondering" about them. It literally takes new coaches/GM's 3+ years to make their mark and people are already questioning their moves. Then again, probably the same people who were mad we didn't keep Horton and instead hired the Coach of the Year. Stanton isn't being brought in to lead the franchise, he's merely adding depth and familiarity to Arians. I really thought you guys would have figured it out.

    There are no great QB's out there at this time. If Kolb is not with the team next season for what ever reason Stanton or even Hoyer may be the QB for 2013. Do any of you negative posters have a better QB option? I don't understand people that are down on the new coaching staff.

    Come on guys, as was stated, lets give the new regime a chance they haven't even had a practice yet. Reserve the negative conments for later in the year when they MIGHT have traction. Lets back BIG RED not bash him.
