The Arizona Cardinals could use some help at running back, especially now that they've released Beanie Wells.

Speculation began over the weekend that the team could be interested in Reggie Bush, and the decision to part with Wells would only seem to strengthen that idea.

A guest of Arizona Sports 620's Doug and Wolf Monday, Clayton reiterated that while the Cardinals may want Bush, they will not be alone in the chase.

"The problem's going to be Detroit," he said. "I think what you can see is that Reggie is going to definitely leave Miami and he wants to get with a high-powered offense.

"And even though there's nothing against the Arizona Cardinals' offense, there's more for him to look at in Detroit than there may be in Arizona."

Clayton said money will be a factor, but thinks Bush may be leaning towards Detroit.

"But definitely get a look by the Arizona Caridnals," he added.

Bush was originally drafted second overall by the New Orleans Saints in 2006, and while he was an effective player, was little more than a receiving threat/change of pace running back.

However, he signed with the Miami Dolphins prior to the 2011 season, and went on to rush for 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns over the course of two seasons as well as catch 78 passes for 588 yards and three scores.

Please sign him. Please. And also, please pass on Fisher. Thanks.

    Would make sense
He doesn't have injuries issues like Wells did and he would be an upgrade over LSH for the screen game. I still think they need to draft a big strong RB with the injuries Ryan Williams has had.

Money and Arians would say otherwise.
He's looking for his last contract and Arians said (and track record has proven) that he wants a blocking RB. Don't see it happening.

    Arians pass first offense
...Bush might be a fit for his catching ability. Unfortunately if they continue to ignore the Oline...it won't matter.

Bush wont choose us, and i foresee another year of our rivals continuing to snag stars, while we bring in a bunch of no names for visits, and sign few has beens. Niners and seahawks are going to wipe the floor with us for years. Sorry, im fighting a bout of depression after Boldin and Harvin. I apologize for the outburst of negativity.

    Need All Purpose Back
An underrated aspect of the '08 Superbowl team was having Tim Hightower and J.J. Arrington catching passes out of the backfield. Warner used them as safety outlets taking a lot of pressure off the Oline. Ryan Williams showed signs of that ability before he got hurt.

Gotta agree with you. Need an o-line. A qb obviously. A solid back who can stay healthy and still wr help along side fitz. Cards are nowhere to be found in talks with any stars while the rest of the division strengthens. Not a bright time for the cards.

    You are kidding me!
Why in the world would you release a lazy and underperforming RB and then pick up a primadona? Bush is a joke. CMon. If healthy, the only vet RB I would even come close to considering is Turner. That man is a human hammer that plays the game with all his heart. Reggie Bush=Clown.

    Go For The Best Back
Undeniably, the best running back available is Stephen Jackson. While many think it is a foregon conclusion he's going to Atlanta, he is just the kind of back Brue Arains wants and the Cards should put out maximum effort and $$$ to get him. Hey, it's worth the shot with all the improvements Seattle and SF have made.

Forget Reggie and don't forget Fisher
Reggie is a good player but Arians RBs don't catch passes, they run. Colts RBs were 32nd in the league in catches. We don't need him, too much $$$. Fix the OL, we can't run block or protect until we do....so who cares about Reggie Bush, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, etc. None of them can perform until we address the worst line in NFL history. Fisher is a STUD Mesa Mad Man, he won't be there for us anyway, but we should take him in a heartbeat if he is. Gimme (Joeckel/Fisher/Warmack) #FIXTHEOL #SAYNOTOGENO
