Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com has not been shy about linking the Arizona Cardinals to free agency rumors over the last 24 hours.

Friday night, Florio suggested the team may be interested in the services of quarterback Carson Palmer should he be released by the Oakland Raiders.

And it seems Florio believes another former USC standout could also be a fit in Bruce Arians' offense come 2013: Reggie Bush.

Here's Florio on Bush's possible destinations:

To no surprise, Reggie Bush won't be back with the Dolphins. So where will he go?

Teams to watch include the Lions and the Cardinals. Detroit previously has been linked to Bush, a move that would be no surprise in light of the fact that Jahvid Best likely will never play football again. The Cardinals simply need the talent, and Bush has it.

The fact that the Cardinals have needs makes them even more attractive for Bush, because he wants to be the top dog on the depth chart.

Bush, who selected No. 2 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft, has played seven seasons with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins. He enters free agency with championship pedigree having won a Super Bowl with the Saints in 2009-10.

However, it wasn't until Bush went to Miami after the 2010 season that he became more of a feature back.

In 2011, Bush ran for a career-high 1,086 yards to go along with six rushing touchdowns. He put up similar numbers last season for the Dolphins, running for 986 yards and six touchdowns.

Whatever team lands Bush will be getting a dual-threat in the backfield. The former All-Pro running back has at least 34 catches in each of his seven seasons and recorded a career-high 88 during his rookie year in New Orleans.

Whether the rumor is valid remains to be seen, but Arians and Co. sure could use some extra fire power in the run game.

Due to substantial injuries to both Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams, the Cardinals rushing attack was severely hampered in 2012. Arizona finished last in the league in yards per attempt (3.4) and yards per game (75.3).

    Problem is this..
Reggie is better served where running backs are utilized in the passing game catching out of the backfield. Unless Arians and Co. intend on adjusting the program they have already foreshadowed to i.e. backs are used for pass pro and not to catch out of the backfield.. a Bush connection doesn't make sense.

The rule of thumb with RBs has always been that if you want one, you draft them. RBs acquired via FA rarely pan out as RBs bodies break down VERY fast in this league so by the time they're available in free agency, their candles either already burned out, or just about to. The cards themselves need look no further then their own stints with emmit smith and Edgerian James to see the truth of this. Thats not to say I want them to draft a RB mind you, but unless Bush came dirt cheap I'd rather not waste cap space on him personally, especially when top O-line men are available in free agency.

    Nope
Bush is going to want too much money for the Cards' budget. There will be plenty of serviceable RBs in the later rounds of the draft this year. Very unlikely the Cards are headed to the Super Bowl this year with a completely unsettled QB and O line situation, so save the money for O linemen and draft some young kid without an injury history.

can't see them going after a back who can't, or won't block. He doesn't fit the mold of what the Cards are looking for. And I agree with Dan, he is about done in this league.

Teams have released him? I know the saints gave him a Tender offer, but I would like the Cardinals to sign Chris Ivory.

    The problem with Reggie
is the same problem that we've had with our own RBs over the past couple years, injuries. Bush seems to have problems staying healthy and last year's knee injury seemed to slow his ability to make sharp cuts the rest of the year. He'll probably want quite a bit of money too. Just not seeing the logic in bringing him in.

    If we had a line......
I really liked what I saw from Powell in spurts when the line actually made that first hole. It seemed that once he was through he made great adjustments and made most linebackers miss. I definitely like his heart.
