The NFL Draft is still more than a month away, which means rumors and speculation about which players teams want to take will be swirling like crazy.

Go ahead and add another to the list, courtesy of South Florida Sun-Sentinel NFL writer Omar Kelly.

Smith, the West Virginia QB who most believe will be the first quarterback taken in April, has elicited mixed reactions among scouts.

He threw for 4,205 yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior last season, and at 6-foot-3 and 209 lbs. has the size to play the position.

But is he new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians' top choice at No. 7 overall? Only time will tell.

    How is there jockeying...
when the Cards have 7 and the Bills are behind them? Is the speculation that the Bills will try to trade up? If so, with which team? In the more immediate future, this same guy says the Cards are freeing up cap space to sign Jake Long. Can't wait for that speculative article. Journalism!

Take one online article from AZ speculating that Cards may want Smith. Take one online article from Buffalo that Bills may want Smith. Shake well. Give to Omar in Miami to report as news. Lose 5 minutes of your life that you will never get back. Enjoy over ice.

I can't speak for that reporter, but you don't have to be a local person to be connected to NFL circles. It's very possible (and likely) a Miami reporter would have sources that could get info for many different teams. To think someone must cover the Cardinals exclusively to have sources and knowledge about other teams is a bit naive, don't you think?

    As for the story itself
No one is more aware of the fact that this could be a baseless rumor than we are here. However, we feel like our readers would prefer to hear everything that's out there, and we think we'd be doing you all a disservice if we didn't present as much information as we can find. And in this specific instance, it's clearly noted how this is very likely just one of many, many rumors that will come out between now and the draft.

    Don't see it.
I could see the Cards considering Smith at #7 and the Bills at #8. Could even see the Bills considering leap-frogging the Cards for him just in case. But I don't see the Cards "jockeying" for him - they might take him if he's there, but letting him go if it looks like the Bills will jump them rather than giving up anything to move up.
