Adrian Wilson's 12-year run with the Arizona Cardinals came to an end Friday when the team released him.

The five-time Pro Bowl safety, who will likely continue his career elsewhere, released a note on his Instagram page for the fans he played for for more than a decade.

"It's been a honor and a pleasure Cardinals fans. 12 years of heart and dedication and loyalty. 1 day we'll celebrate the #24 together. 24."

    A True Warrior
I will miss ADub. He became my favorite player when I moved here, and I hope he eventually becomes a coach or other part of the organization.

    Played Hard every Play
What a shame, he played all out every single game and play-! What the Cardinals should have done is kept, Wilson and traded Fitzgerald to whatever team would give them the most draft picks this year. You can't score points when you have 2nd and 3rd string QB's trying to throw to a WR that makes more money than the entire starting offensive line. Just not gonna work.. Anquan Boldin made 6 million dollars this year with the Ravens and had another great year, TD catch in the Super Bowl that they won Are you telling me that Fitz is 2x the player Boldin is? no way

They don't make them like AD anymore!
Thank you for all of the dedication and loyalty! On a separate note for Cards fans...Ryan Lindley is still a Cardinal....let that soak in.

One of the Greatest Cardinals Ever
This guy is one of the top 3 greatest Cardinals ever, and probably will be for a long time... Shouldn't have ended this way. A Dub deserved to retire a Cardinal.

    my sadness
is only matched by my appreciation for who he was on the field. I own his jersey and will wear it proudly on Sundays during the season. My hats off to a truly amazing player that brought heart, toughness, determination and just the right amount of nasty to the game. Wherever his path leads, I hope life brings him all the best. Thank you A-Dub!
