The Arizona Cardinals coaching search took yet another turn late Tuesday night.

According to NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport reported the team has requested permission to speak with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

Arians, 60, spent just one season with the Colts, but prior to that he was the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator for five seasons.

Arians' initial season with the Colts was rather eventful, as not only did he tutor rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, but he was the team's interim head coach for 12 games while head coach Chuck Pagano recovered from leukemia. He guided the team to a 9-3 mark while in charge, and the Colts ultimately reached the playoffs.

Unfortunately for Arians, though, he missed the playoff game due to being hospitalized with a virus.

Rapaport has also reported the Cardinals are set to interview Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, and the team has already spoken with Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden and Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton.

    From an Arians' interview
a few days ago.... Many teams have shown interested in hiring Arians as their head coach, but he maintains it will have to be the right job for him to leave Indianapolis. "It's going to have to be a perfect fit for me to leave what we have done here, and not just to jump out to be a head coach," Arians said. Sounds like he would love it here.

    Taking his time?
Please catch up with the rest of us in the real world! This job is not desirable...that is why the position isn't filled yet. Give me a break with the rose colored glasses please.

    Ofcourse the Cards are cheap
Again, please take off the rose colored glasses...price matters in every aspect of what the Cards do. Is anyone surprised that Graves was under paid....no. Just look at the results. Also, the Cards are being frugal because they still owe Whiz $5M. But, not only is being cheap the hurdle....add to that no QB + lack of a credible owner + lack of an Oline. The Cards position could easily be seen as CLM - "career limiting move".

    Hiring Fiasco
It's time to hire Ray Horton-- actually it's past time to hire Ray. If the Cardinals bring in some less qualified, less capable, and more questionable choice to take a job at which Ray has earned a shot, the ball club will be alienating many members of its fanbase.

    Of course they're NOT cheap
Look at the big contracts they've given out over the past several years: Dockett, Campbell, Washington, Fitz, A-Dub...the list goes on and on. In addition, Whiz was one of the top 5 or 6 paid coaches in the NFL. And they've been at the salary cap every year since the new stadium except the lockout year. "Cheap" is a lazy word for those looking to insult the organization without paying attention to the facts. You need to find a new insult, because that one doesn't apply any longer.

    Well,
If it isn't pablum swallowing CardsFan with one of his typical myopic observations of how he, in his own little world, invisions the Cardinals to be. How did the playoffs work for ya this year?

    Cheap.........not this time
Seriously though why not get a HC who is offensive minded while still keeping Ray? He is a solid DC but apparently his staff needed a lot of work before he was given the job. Nobody said he won't be given the job but why not interview some other candidates just to make sure? The 2 or 3 teams that interviewed Horton went with other candidates so what is different from us doing it?

    Horton: Word Is
from the other radio station up the dial that Horton is really unhappy with how this is going down and will be gone when his contract expires after next season if the Cards don't offer him the HC job. He'll either go to an HC job or another DC job. That would be a shame for this team who seem to be totally devoted to him.
