The Arizona Cardinals coaching search took yet another turn late Tuesday night.

According to NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport reported the team has requested permission to speak with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

Arians, 60, spent just one season with the Colts, but prior to that he was the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator for five seasons.

Arians' initial season with the Colts was rather eventful, as not only did he tutor rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, but he was the team's interim head coach for 12 games while head coach Chuck Pagano recovered from leukemia. He guided the team to a 9-3 mark while in charge, and the Colts ultimately reached the playoffs.

Unfortunately for Arians, though, he missed the playoff game due to being hospitalized with a virus.

Rapaport has also reported the Cardinals are set to interview Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, and the team has already spoken with Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden and Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton.

    Cardinals Search
I'm glad Bidwill is taking his time on who to hire as HC. Everyone is starting the BS with the cheap thing again because of what Keim has supposedly been paid, but if it's true it's Keim who accepted the offer. I don't think we are that far from being playoff bound minus a few offensive players and a good offensive coach. As far as everyone saying Kolb is injury prone is BS.

    Cardinals Search 2
Kolb hasn't been so much injury prone, as he is unlucky. Most of his injuries has been quite freakish but none of them with ligaments or tendons to the arms or legs where there would then be a concern. A good offensive cordinator and QB coach will totally turn this team around.

But the 600 characters is rediculous. You can't hardly say whats on your mind...... Most sites are at least 1000 characters.

    just hire Horton
Come on Cards, seriously? I think we all are looking for the best OC available to be the HC. That didnt quite work out when we hired Whiz. Then again, our roster(offensively) in 08 and 09 was a lot better than our roster now. But most of that roster was put together by Denny Green and toodles to Warner for the amazing job he did for us at QB. I liked how passionate and fiery Todd Haley was. Seems like he lit a fire under everyones butt when he needed to and they responded. We need a guy like that as our OC. It really doesnt matter who becomes HC! It matters who they bring in as OC.

I like the idea of chasing the best OC to be HC but we need the best OC to be OC not to be HC. Horton could draft and pick up FA's to improve the offense and bring in a OC that is going to do what he feels should be done for the offense to win. As far as DC, he probably knows all kinds of ppl that could be his DC. The man is very football smart man.

    Finally
Took them long enough to at least attempt to interview Arians. Arians or Horton are the best and last two viable candidates for the AZC job. Arians showed he could be a head coach in Indy with a rookie, and been in the league for some time. Website suggestion: Nice look, but still need a character counter for Comments to post (seeing there is a limit).

    Not so cheap
NFL source states Cards GM Keim is being paid in excess of 1 mil along the same lines as Graves. So stop bellyaching people. The Cards FO should interview as many prospects as possible. Everybody has different ideas and schemes about playing the game. Invalueable information. Although an offensive minded HC is ideal, the OC is a much more important hire.

Would that be the same source
who said Reid was a 95% probablilty. Arians' health sucks. Probably have a stoke in the second game of the season.

    run, run, pass, punt Arians?
Let's just end the dog & pony show, promote Ray Horton & allow him to get his coordinators/assistant coaches in place. We just had an "offensive-minded" HC, how did that work out for us? Ray has earned the respect of the fans, the media & the players - can't say that about ANY of the other candidates.

    Arians
Who else of the available coaching candidates took their team to the playoffs last season? I'm speaking as a head coach, which is essentially what Arians was. I am very interested in Arians as the Cards next HC.
