Former NFL head coach and current ESPN NFL analyst Herm Edwards knows a thing or two about football.

Edwards, who coached the New York Jets for five seasons and the Kansas City Chiefs for three, has seen some talented players.

Needless to say, he views Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald as one of the game's best.

"I say this every Sunday, how good is this guy," Edwards told Arizona Sports 620's Doug and Wolf Wednesday. "He's a pro's pro.

"This poor guy, Larry Fitzgerald, sits there every week. You can't get him the ball, it's unbelievable."

Fitzgerald finished the 2012 campaign with 71 catches for just 798 yards and a career-low four touchdowns. It was a down year for Arizona's offense in general, the problems for which can be traced directly to one position.

The always passionate Herm Edwards gets fired up about RG3 and the Redskins, the NFL playoffs, and the AZ Cardinals' coaching search.
"You see his career just wasting away and you're going 'get the guy a quarterback,'" Edwards proclaimed. "It ain't fair to him, it's really not.

"It's hard to watch."

    That's Why
this team needs to start the rebuilding process for the offense by trading him. His value is sky high and receivers are a dime a dozen vs. other offensive skill positions so he can be replaced. Better for Fitz, better for the team.

    i agree 100%
but all i hear is "WE CANT GET RID OF THE BEST RECIEVER IN THE NFL"! Why not? AZ could trade him for all kinds of draft picks and/or good players that can help this team win in the trenches (O Linemen, QBs, and RBs). All he's doing is wasting away for both of us.

    Good WRs come and go
There will always be good recievers everywhere that can make plays. But you know what they need? A freaking quarterback!

Fitz is a Cardinal for life!!
He wanted Kolb and if he weren't such an injury prone QB he could be ok, but ok is not what Fitz needs. Receivers like Fitz don't come and go. That may be the dumbest remark ive ever read, he is a once in a lifetime player and we need to get this crap fixed and Fitz back on track. There are more than a few QB's we could go after that have been successful but been on horrible teams. Chad Henne for example put Blackmon and Shorts on the map and has had good numbers when he has played and also has a cannon.

Matt Flynn, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Shaun Hill at Detroit put up great numbers when he played but I think we should try and trade for Phillip Rivers or Carson Palmer who had a great season considering the crappy team he was playing for, maybe the only offence as bad as the Cards except for him. Palmer and Fitzpatrick could resurrect their careers in AZ and Rivers would be a long shot but at this point i would give a second, fourth, and first round pick from the 2014 draft for him and we could draft Lacey from Alabama and target fa lineman. Lets go Keim, show the fans what you can do.

    Matt Barkley 2013!!!!
Hey dudes, lets draft Matt Barkely! Can it get any more cool! That guy is the bee's knees. I am so impressed by his hair and ability to be smart. If we are lucky, we can get him with the 7th pick in the draft (adios Mathew Leinart). Hang loose.

I actually got a good chuckle at you post. If we draft Barkley at 7 I'll eat my shoe.

    How many
Fans and sports writers were for keeping Whisenhunt one more year? For three years the Cardinals had no QB, RB or OL. He could not figure out how to get the most talented WR in the league the ball. Thank you Michael, now lets get us a coach.

    No trading Fitz
If anyone thinks they are going to get multiple high draft picks in return for Fitz, who is coming off his worst season, they are delusional. You are not going to get full value for him. Reagardless that he has a legitimate reason for such a poor season.I'd much rather keep Fitz and rebuild around him,we just need to get a competent QB (not even a star) and fix the O-line. It can be done.
