The Arizona Cardinals may not have a coach, but apparently that won't stop them from interviewing potential assistants.

According to CBS NFL insider Jason La Canfora, the team has checked in with former Eagles defensive coordinator and offensive line coach Juan Castillo.

Interesting.

Castillo was the Eagles' offensive line coach from 1998-2010, when he was moved into the defensive coordinator position. He was fired from that post in October 2012, though.

La Canfora notes the Cardinals' interest would likely be for his work with offensive linemen, as that is an area the team has struggled with for the better part of forever.

However, that they would be looking to add to the coaching staff without having a coach on board yet would seem like a questionable move.

    Uh, Yeah... Very Questionable
Interviewing potential assistant coaches when you don't even have an HC or OC yet? Unless..... Horton is the HC pick and they've already talked with him about Castillo???

    What?
Most coaches like to have a say in who their coaches are. However, Juan Castillo is a proven OL coach. How he became a defensive coordinator, I will never know

    Signs Horton to be HC
Call me crazy but I think the Horton as HC will be announced soon. Jurecki leaked on the radio selected names for OC and DC under Horton and now this? Being from Philly Castillo is a darn good coach and we would be lucky to have him. I don't mind at all....

Who cares who the HC is?
Just the fact that Bidwill and Keim are interviewing the best O-Line Coach in the league speaks volume about their commitment to winning.

Jesus Christ this would be amazing. Juan Castillo is the polar opposite of Russ Grimm. Easily the best offensive line coach out there. What a huge boost that would be for 2013. We lock down Castillo, Turner as OC and Horton as HC with Keim at GM and we're looking at completely turning this team around in a few years. Atta boy Mike, I took you for granted.

    Is it possible
that the Cards have their HC, and they are pre-approving the HC's assistants before making a final decision?Or maybe they think since Castillo has coaching experience on both side of the ball, he's a viable HC candidate? I doubt the latter.

    Questionable?!!!
C'mon, y'all..Horton will be the next HC. Not that I'm a huge supporter, but it makes sense. One thing that Pundits, writers and fans all agree on is the stinginess of Bidwil. Horton has made it no secret that he WANTS the job. C'mon!! Who here in that would be in a hiring position would NOT agree that the ball is in Bidwil's court on this one?! So, Horton will be willing to work for, what I'd wager is, the league minimum for a HC (or at least close to it). Just the same as Keim. Had a longer post, but apparently I only get 600. Ah well. you'll have to take my word for it.

    Where's the ink?
Because this is just a bunch of useless noise without someone signing. I assume they are waiting to interview HC candidates that are in the playoff's...or Bidwell & Keim are continuing the streak of fumbling opportunities for the organization.

    OK
A lot of you think this Castillo is great and I hope you are correct. The fact remains that if he has garbage to coach he will fail just like Grimm. The players make the coach great or horrible. A teacher cannot teach if the students won't learn.
