When the Arizona Cardinals relieved head coach Ken Whisenhunt of his duties on December 31, there was a list of people many assumed would be interested in replacing him.

One of those men was Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

Haley, who was the Cardinals' offensive coordinator in 2007 and 2008 before leaving for the top job in Kansas City, has been with the Steelers for one season and always appeared to have an affinity for the Arizona organization.

But according to a report by NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, he's not all too interested in being the team's head coach.

Well so much for that idea, then?

Haley was always an interesting option for Arizona, as he is recognized as being a good coach whose style tends to wear on players over time. He led the Chiefs to the postseason in his second season at the helm, but was relieved of his duties 13 games into the following year.

If Haley is indeed out of the mix, that leaves the Cardinals looking at current defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.

There could be other candidates, but those are the ones confirmed to have either interviewed with the team or scheduled to interview with the team.

    Very Good News
This guy is not the answer for any team as head coach. I really wish Boldin would have whooped his you know what on national television on the sideline when Haley got crazy, Q is slash was the toughest Cardinal football player ever and Haley had little to no respect for Q, (used him mostly as decoy) and Q couldnt stand him, in other words this Haley guy thinks his stuff dont stink and that dont fly when your players dont even respect you. if it wernt for his dad and the combo of kurt and fitz this guy would be coaching NAU right now look at the steelers offense now

    Interviews
I think it's best to just wait until it ACTUALLY happens. This year has been the worst year EVER for bogus reports. Andy Reid is the HC of the Cardinals and Chip kelly is the HC of the Browns ....... We all know that ...... O'h Brother

    Heard a rumor
ESPN supposedly had someone on that said Haley wanted to be offered the job without having to fly across the country and interview.

    Haley sucks
And it sucks here too! That is why no good coaches out there want this job. Of course Lovie Smith, but, he needs a job period, so of course he'll take this job!
