Lost somewhat in the shuffle of the Arizona Cardinals' search for a head coach is the fact that the team is also looking for a general manager.

Rod Graves, who had been with the organization since 1997, was fired the same day as former head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Last week, the team met with Morocco Brown, the director of player personnel for the Washington Redskins about the post, but other than that, the rumor mill has been pretty stagnant.

Tuesday morning, Albert Breer of NFL Network reported that the Cardinals appear to be zeroing in on an in-house candidate.

Keim, Arizona's vice president of player personnel, has been with the organization since 1999 and, as Breer mentions, is a candidate for other general manager openings around the league. In fact, Breer reported Monday that Keim, along with Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell were the favorites for Jacksonville's GM job.

OFFENSIVE MINDED COACH??? They HAD one with Whiz. O sucked, D was great. How could the D possibly be good under your theory without a DEFENSIVE minded HC? Because the HC doesnt run the D - the DC did. They need the right QB and OC. HIRE HORTON!!!

    Head Coach
I hate the fact that most people qualify how good a potential coach is based on their success and stats as a coordinator. The bottom line is that the head coaching spot is completely different. What could have been their strongest assets as a OC/DC will likely not even be a factor as to if they turn into a good head coach. What made Horton so good was his creative and aggressive play calling. As a HC, I would hope he isnt the one calling our offense or defensive plays. Our Coordinators and GM (personnel wise) are much more important decisions in my opinion.

    DC as HC
If you have an offensive minded coach, you run the risk (again) of him not listening to his OC and calling his own plays instead of managing the game.

    not keim!
My picks for gm would be Brown from Washington or what about interviewing Dennis Green for GM, he has a good eye for talent. We need a new philosophy for the draft and scouting not a Graves trainey.

    Horton forward thinking!
Horton has a plan and that's what we need a new idea a new plan. If Horton gets the deal I could see Turner as OC and Lovie Smith as DC and that will equal positive change that we need here in the Cardinals organization. Make it happen Bidwill!!

    OC for HC
Bringing in an OC for the top spot will give you a more consistant offense over the years b/c the HC will pick a like minded OC to do the play calling. If they go Horton, then you have the problem of replacing the OC every few years if they are good enough for a HC position. The problem that Whiz had was that his OC was someone to run practices for him and not the play calling.
