Lost somewhat in the shuffle of the Arizona Cardinals' search for a head coach is the fact that the team is also looking for a general manager.

Rod Graves, who had been with the organization since 1997, was fired the same day as former head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Last week, the team met with Morocco Brown, the director of player personnel for the Washington Redskins about the post, but other than that, the rumor mill has been pretty stagnant.

Tuesday morning, Albert Breer of NFL Network reported that the Cardinals appear to be zeroing in on an in-house candidate.

Keim, Arizona's vice president of player personnel, has been with the organization since 1999 and, as Breer mentions, is a candidate for other general manager openings around the league. In fact, Breer reported Monday that Keim, along with Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell were the favorites for Jacksonville's GM job.

    Speed
I think the "speed" of getting people hired is highly overrated at this point. Of course everyone wants to get someone in there so we know, but theres still quite a few teams PLAYING FOOTBALL. Generally, those teams that are still playing at this time are the ones that have the better candidates. Why would you want to hire a head coach/gm from a team that didnt even make the playoffs. Once the superbowl is played, then i think it will be important to find their guy/guys and get them hired

    Finalize this Already
Sign him up and settle that part of the situation. Then just do the right thing and make an offer to Horton for HC.

    Get this done
So he can look into our next HC. GM first, coach second. I like this, they're actually following protocol.

While I agree with you on the coaching aspect, the GM search we should hire Keim. Now he can have his say with the HC.

    Nice
Glad to see they are going after Keim. I'm not as gungho as others to hire Horton as the HC. I think they need an offensive minded coach to come in and change the inept offense we have. Everyone is so worried about Horton leaving but the defense isn't the problem on this team.

    Keim done well
Keim has helped bring in some good draft picks, Agree about Horton not ready for HC yet I think the defense is overrated, still give up to many big plays and still have trouble stopping the run.

    Bad move
We needed fresh views in the front office. Keim was in the same draft room that Whiz and Graves were, he is just an extension of the "same old Cards". We needed to get another organization's person in here to give a new perspective.

Our defense is solid but they are ALWAYS on the dang field. Tough to defend game in game out being on the field about 35 minutes a game. Our offense did nothing to help them this season!

    Keim
I believe Keim is a good move but not so sure on Horton as head coach. Has anyone thought about what might happen to the defense if Horton is named HC. Wouldn't Horton have to hire another DC and how do we know the defense will be as good. Horton would have alot more on his plate and most of his time would be on other things and not just defense.
