Add one more to the list of coaching candidates the Arizona Cardinals are interested in to fill their open vacancy.

Sunday morning, CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora tweeted this:

Gruden, the younger brother of former NFL coach Jon Gruden, has served as Marvin Lewis' offensive coordinator in Cincinnati the last two seasons. In both seasons, the Bengals made the playoffs despite having an inexperienced quarterback (2011 second-round selection Andy Dalton) behind center.

Before coming to Cincinnati, Gruden worked in the Arena Football league for 14 years. On two separate occasions (1998-2001 and 2004-2008), he served as the head coach of the Orlando Predators. In addition, Gruden was the head coach of the Florida Tuskers out of the United Football League in 2010.

Gruden knows a thing or two about the quarterback position, as well, having won four Arena Bowl titles as the starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Storm.

Sunday night, the Cardinals VP of Media Relations Mark Dalton confirmed the team's interest in Gruden with this tweet:

Arizona has also expressed interest in current defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

    Outcome of McCoy Interview...
So I take it that the Mike McCoy interview didn't go so well. Since all that's being said is that it took place this past Saturday...AND?! It appears the Bears are also going to meet with him. I'd imagine he'd take the Bears job over any the others, since he'd have Jay Cutler to work with. If he ended up interviewing with San Diego, that'd probably be another viable option for him, cause they have Phillip Rivers, I can picture him tailoring both of those Offenses, cause they have respectable Quarterbacks with experience.

    If
Cards are going the DC route again, they should just promote Horton.

    Sorry
Meant if cards are going the coodinator route period, they should just promote Horton. The reason being that The Cards should try to retain Horton and I don't see the other coordinators mentioned as being an upgrade from Horton.
