According to reports Thursday, the Arizona Cardinals had asked the Pittsburgh Steelers for permission to interview offensive coordinator Todd Haley for their head coaching vacancy.

Haley was the offensive coordinator in Arizona for the 2007 and 2008 seasons before leaving to be the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he made some sense as a candidate.

However, early Friday a report circulated that Haley had not yet agreed to speak with the Cardinals, perhaps in part because of his affinity for working for the Steelers.

According to Arizona Sports 620's Paul Calvisi, it looks like you can disregard that report.

The Cardinals are currently scheduled to chat with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy Saturday, and as of yet nothing is known to be on the docket with Haley.

That may change shortly.

haley would be a great fit.
Fitz has a great relationship with him and his best years as a pro with him. Haley would know how to get him the ball. We are a QB away from being in the running for this division with the addition of a few lineman and a QB. I would sign Henne and Fitzpatrick or Flynn and let them battle it out. If San Diego would trade Rivers that would be great but its doubtful but I would give a first, third, and Lindley for him. Carson Palmer played a lot better than people think with no receivers. If he had Fitz, Roberts, Floyd, and Housler coming along we could compete.

Horton can always be the Cards last option...so Bidwill can continue his hunt for an offensive solution.
