Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid has garnered quite a bit of interest around the league just a few days after being fired by Philadelphia.

Reid met with the Kansas City Chiefs brass Wednesday and had planned to travel to Arizona to meet with the Cardinals afterwards.

However, those plans changed after Reid's interview with the Chiefs ran longer than expected.

Philadelphia's FOX 29 TV and 94WIP Radio host Howard Eskin tweeted Wednesday night that Reid's interview with Kansas City appeared to go smoothly.

Reid is expected in Arizona Thursday and remains a top candidate to land the Cardinals' head coaching position.

    Deja Vu
9 hours? That sounds a lot like when Peyton Manning spent all day in Denver. Then came to AZ as a afterthought. Get ready for Ray Ray. Have no problem with that.

    Chiefs are deeper in depth
(Offensively). Chiefs are deeper at RB and TE. Their O Line are a few picks or FA's from being good (just like us). Their Defense is talented and are a good D Cooridinator from being good (like we were before Horton arrived). But offensively the Chiefs are a little deeper than we are. Both of us dont have a franchise QB. But that's Andy's specialty. I wonder if he thinks Kolb is good enough to come here and overlook the positions we're thin at (RB, TE, and O Line)??????

    Reid to KC
I think Andy is attracted to KC just because they have more depth on Offense in KC at RB and TE. Developing a QB and the chemistry between his QBs and WRs are his specialty. I dont think that would be a problem for him to do that here. But the RB and TE positions are a big piece to his scheme. Obviously we're not established at those positions...

    Reid
The more I read and the more I think on it, the more I hope he does go to KC and we sign Horton and make it a priority to sign a creative, innovative OC, top line qb coach and a forward thinking GM. Dont get me wrong I think Reid is a great coach and could help greatly, but I would almost rather not have a high profile coach come in that wants to do things "his way". I want someone to come in and cater to the talent we have.

    Blessing in Disguise
Doesn't every interview in the NFL look like it went well? If Reid falls through I still like Horton just as much. If he knows who to hire to run the offense and keep the defense the same, then we can actually build an offense. Horton is a smart coach and understands offenses from the defense side. I believe this will help him in bringing in the correct coaches and players to win.

I agree 100% ..... I wouldn't mind seeing Reid here with Horton, but as you said Horton seems to have a very high mental capacity of the game. I just hope if Horton gets the job that he has someone lined up with the same mental capacity of the offensive side of the ball. I heard that the Cardinals are asking permission to speak with Todd Haley.
