"Black Monday" marks the first official day when organizations across the NFL begin to fire employees (head coach, coordinators and general managers) in the hopes of improving their respective clubs in the coming year.

However in a 24-hour news cycle, those moves are often announced a few days earlier.

On Sunday, ESPN Insider Adam Schefter tweeted that the Jacksonville Jaguars intend to relieve GM Gene Smith of his duties following Sunday's season finale. Schefter also went on to say that one of Smith's two potential replacements is Jason Licht, the Director of Player Personnel for the Arizona Cardinals.

Licht is currently in his second stint with the Cardinals. In 2008, he served as a personnel executive with the team before leaving for the New England Patriots (2009-11) to take over as their Director of Pro Personnel.

He returned to Arizona in May 2012.

    I cant say that I would believe you are qualified to know what he has/can do here. In the business world, you can only perform up to the level you are enabled to. If people above or around him are making calls and decisions, how do you know he isnt capable of being something great

    FitzIsMyHero has no idea what he's talking about. I personally disagree with almost everything he has to say. Licht worked with New England for 4 years, he's more than qualified.
