The beautiful thing about a win in the NFL, is that for at least a few days all of a team's persisting problems can be masked by the end result.

Take for instance last Sunday's 38-10 win by the Arizona Cardinals over the Detroit Lions. The victory snapped a season-high nine-game losing streak, but was largely the product of another tremendous performance by Arizona's defense (forced four turnovers, two returned for touchdowns).

Making his third career start in the contest, quarterback Ryan Lindley was rather uninspiring, throwing for 104 yards, to go along with one interception and no touchdown passes. Most of the offense was generated by an opportunistic defense, and Beanie Wells seemed to handle the rest of the load (career-high three touchdowns) in the red zone.

In fact, Lindley has yet to throw a touchdown in his first four career appearances, forcing some to wonder if he can even notch the career milestone in 2012.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, no quarterback since 2001 has thrown 91 passes or more in a season without connecting for at least one touchdown.

And as ESPN's NFC West blogger Mike Sando pointed out Saturday, Lindley currently holds the NFL record for most passes in a season (141) without a touchdown pass.

Lindley isn't alone though. Former Cardinal Matt Leinart also had a similar run of futility in 2009, failing to throw a touchdown in his first 77 attempts.

The task won't get any easier for the former sixth-round pick over the final two weeks of the 2012 season. Arizona faces two of the top six pass defenses in the league in Week 16 (Chicago Bears) and Week 17 (San Franciso 49ers).

    To bad
You have to feel bad for any QB that has the misfortune of playing on the Cardinals offensive side of the ball.

    Not anymore
I felt bad for our QBs early in the season, but as Massie took his lumps and learned from them and Porter presumably matured enough off field to over throw Batiste for the starting position, the offensiveness of our offense has fallen more and more on the shoulders of the QBs who can't seem to get the passes to our WRs. I'm not saying its all lindley and skeltons fault, our O-line is still on the under side of respectable, but many of the terrible reads and even worse throws were mistakes a quality QB behind this same line would not have made.

    To be fair
I will give Lindley this, he probably got thrown into this mess before he was ready. You generally don't expect 6th round draft pick QBs to start in their rookie season. Heck, regardless of the position you rarely see 6th round picks start as rookies. Players picked that late are generally the guys who clearly aren't ready yet, but your hoping that with time you can maybe develop them into something of note. Nothing I've seen of Lindley makes me think he will ever develop into a starting QB, but we weren't supposed to see him yet, he was supposed to be a work in progress this year.

    Well...
I did feel like Kolb and the line both developed this year, skelton not so much. Whether or not Whiz had anything to do with the improvements we saw out of Kolb or have been seeing out of Massie I have no idea. I do have to give Whiz credit for sticking with Horton last year at the beginning of the year when everyone said his schemes were too complex to be realistically implemented and I also give him credit for sticking with Grimm who seems to finally be getting something out of Massie and Potter.

IF HE COULDN'T GET A TD PASS AGAINST THE LIONS
He'll probably never get one. The Lions totally sucked and there's no excuse for no TD passes in that game. Even the Win that they're boasting about, IT WAS THE LIONS !!!!!! It wasn't the Texans. They were 4-9 (bottom of the barrel) just like the Cards. Where's the big achievement? All Overpaid for sure. No support here. GO BEARS.
