ESPN NFL analyst Ron Jaworski says Ryan Lindley gave the Arizona Cardinals "solid quarterbacking" Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The rookie out of San Diego State completed 14-of-21 passes for 104 yards and one interception. His numbers weren't great (they really weren't even good), but he did not make the game-changing mistake and ultimately earned his first NFL win. He is expected to get the start when the Cardinals host the Chicago Bears Sunday, though Jaworski told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo he thinks the Cardinals should give some playing time to recently-signed quarterback Brian Hoyer.

"I think eventually you need to see some Hoyer," he said. "You'd like to see him in a Cardinals uniform on the field in a real-live game.

Jaws talked about what changes the AZ Cardinals need to make heading into next season. He also wants to see their new QB Brian Hoyer play the rest of this season!
"I'm not saying he should start, but I think he needs to get some minutes so the Cardinals can get a look and maybe get a look behind the curtain to their future."

Hoyer, 27, has played in parts of three NFL seasons with the New England Patriots. He has completed 27-of-43 passes for 286 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

    The Cards should give "replacing their Head Coach" a look and then go from there.

    The offense does such a bad job at execution from the QB position that your convinced the QB's aren't learning anything from this staff. For the last 3 years our QB's have been inaccurate, un-educated, and confused. Warner came in already seasoned. So the staff didnt have a lot to do for him. But everyone else has struggled miserably in Whiz's offense. Leinhart, Anderson, Hall, Bartel, Skelton, Kolb, and Lindley. Im convinced Whiz is incompetent of developing a QB to a satisfactory level. On top of that, he misjudges talent pretty good and cant incorporate a run game. #FAILURE

    Since they've already committed to Lindley for this next game, why not let Hoyer go in the last one at SF? Maybe he can show something to justify them bringing him back for a longer look next year. At this point, why not???

    As FitzIsMyHero stated, and everyone knows, Warner came in with experience. Albeit more experience than Hoyer has had, but maybe his time under Brady gave him the skills necessary to lead an offense like the Cardinals. Pats weren't a very "run first team" until this season either, so maybe Hoyer CAN do something with this pass first offense that has failed miserably since Warner's departure?

    Nothing meaningful can be gauged from Hoyer playing. The guy knows the play book and the receivers just a little bit better than me and you. Recipe for a waste of time.
