Arizona Sports predicts Cardinals vs. Lions

How do you respond from losing 58-0 to a division rival? We’re about to find out.

A pair of disappointing teams meet Sunday in Glendale as the Cardinals host the Detroit Lions. Detroit has lost five straight while the Cardinals have dropped their last nine.

Something has to give.

Vince Marotta Only about 130 days until the Draft.

Oh, the Cardinals will lose again. How’s that for breakdown?

Final Score: Lions 34, Cardinals 5

John Gambadoro Not sure why but I see Arizona showing some pride at home after the debacle in Seattle. Call me crazy. The Lions’ season went south when they blew the game on Thanksgiving Day at home against Houston. They have lost five in a row and after making the playoffs last year for the first time since 1999, they will be home for the postseason this year. But how can anyone pick the Cardinals right now? How? Not with Ryan Lindley or John Skelton playing. Maybe if Brian Hoyer was behind center, but he is not. So big game from Calvin Johnson again — he needs 303 receiving yards to break Jerry Rice’s single season record — and the Lions end the losing streak.

Final Score: Lions 24, Cardinals 16
Adam Green Having gotten a first-hand look at the Cardinals last weekend in Seattle, I can safely say it’s tough to see this team winning any games the rest of this season.

With that, I can’t predict them to beat the Lions. The Cardinals are at home, so they’ll play tough, but they just don’t have the offensive firepower to keep up with Detroit.

But hey, at least Ryan Lindley will throw his first career touchdown pass.

Final Score: Lions 27, Cardinals 10

Joe Huizenga As a Lions fan (having grown up in Detroit) I hope Detroit loses to get the higher pick for next year. As a realist, they’ll win, comfortably.

Have you seen the Cardinals play the last few weeks?

Final Score: Lions 31, Cardinals 9

Dave Burns When trying to figure out where the wins are going to come from between now and the end of the season, this might be the longest of the long shots. Teams with good to excellent quarterbacks have lost in the building that features the best homefield advantage in the NFL. The Cards have neither, therefore….

Final Score: Seahawks 17, Cardinals 9
Dave Dulberg A big part of me thinks Calvin Johnson might amass more total yards than the entire Cardinals offense Sunday. And frankly it’s not all that crazy given the events that transpired in Seattle. The Cardinals offense will reach the end zone for the first time since the St. Louis game three weeks ago, but something tells me so will the Lions defense and of course, Megatron. Lions win big in a game that virtually puts an end to Ryan Lindley’s backup candidacy in 2013.

Final Score: Lions 34, Cardinals 10
Carter Nacke It won’t be as ugly as last Sunday, but there is no way the Cardinals win this one. Lindley is not NFL-caliber and the Lions’ defense, while no Seattle, is still tough. Calvin Johnson is going to eat the Cardinals’ secondary alive.

Final Score: Lions 34, Cardinals 7
Charlie Feinerman We all know the Cardinals offense will be atrocious, but I think the defense may be about ready to wave the white flag as well. The defense, which has fought valiantly all year, has to be tired of shouldering the load for this team and having nothing at all to show for it. I see some blown assignments in the secondary and a career day for Megatron.

Final Score: Lions 38, Cardinals 16
Katy Hartley OK, call me crazy, I actually think the Cards could get a win this weekend. Detroit has a lot of injured guys right now, and the Cards are finally back at home. If Lindley can learn from his mistakes and stay fairly balanced on offense, and the defense shuts down the Lions ground game, the Cards can win.

Final Score: Cardinals 17, Lions 14
