The quarterback carousel continues to turn for the Arizona Cardinals, as it was announced Wednesday that rookie Ryan Lindley will start at quarterback Sunday against the Detroit Lions at University of Phoenix Stadium.

"We're going to go with Ryan (Lindley) this week, that's where we ended the game last week," head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "He's gotten some experience and you'd like to think that we could progress from that experience and hopefully he'll play well in this game and we'll get an opportunity to see that Sunday."

This will be Lindley's second crack at the starting spot. The former sixth-round pick got his first start in Week 11 against the St. Louis Rams and also got the nod for Arizona's Week 12 loss to the New York Jets.

"It's another opportunity," Lindley said following Wednesday's practice. "You've got to look at it as a blessing to play the game, to get an opportunity to go out there and play with these guys."

Veteran John Skelton started last Sunday at Seattle before being replaced by Lindley in the third quarter of a 58-0 loss.

For the season, Lindley has completed 58-of-120 passes for 507 yards with five interceptions.

"Really, at this point, you've just got to let loose and have some fun with it, and go out and try to win a game," Lindley said.

The Cardinals enter Sunday's game against Detroit riding a nine-game losing streak. The Lions have lost five straight.

    Fate: Sealed
Four wins is all we're going to get folks. We are going to go 0-fer for the rest of the season. All I can say is I hope that management has learned that they HAVE to shore up the O line first and foremost, and then worry about what's happening behind the line.

I have to go to this game. Im not even gonna watch it, except when the defense plays. I think I am going to get plastered and walk around the stadium and try and hit on some chicks. THEN I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BEARS GAME! If I knew they were gna be 4-9 I never would have bought these tickets. Like I said, Im not buying tickets next year. I will wait to see how they do in 2013. If they do good then I'll buy for 2014.

Why not start the new QB. cant hurt. what about Nick Davilla? he is the next kurt warner. lose the last 4 and get the 5th pick in the draft. get a pretty good QB and OL with the 5th and 37th picks.

    Watch them draft
Barkley and not a OT. They need to draft Joeckel even if that means trading up.

    @shava Fire Whisenhunt?
Coach Whiz is the best Coach in Cards history. Fact. But for the team to have success he needs to be given the right tools to do the job. You can't turn a screw with a hammer and the President and GM need to give him tools that will set the team up for success. He's got no weapons to work with. Firing him would be a huge mistake. Those dudes in the front office are the ones we should hold accountable.

    QBs
The QBs coming out of the draft these days are getting more exposure to more complex offenses and techniques at a younger age. QBs are getting better and you can find them in later rounds. However Whiz would surely pass up a good QB in the mid rounds if he has a fullback or TE higher on his board. SMH.

Whisenhunt had no buisness pulling Skelton in Atlanta, puts him in his (dog house) expects him to come out and play in Seattle what a joke. One of the reasons he has to go..and what other offinsive players has he developed.

    what has he developed??
He's messing things up man! He fined the defensive leader 200K for NOT giving up. He wanted them to concede a TD and give his offense a chance (NOT) to score a TD! I side with DD on this one. Whiz fined DD bcuz he stood up against Whiz. He basically said "Im not going to quit just because you and your offense are suck really bad. YOU NEED TO DO YOUR JOB AND LET ME DO MINE!" Hence the 200K fine. After that NYJ game is when the players started coming out and saying that they need to work harder to keep opposing offenses to zero. Come on man! Thats ridiculous. Whiz & his staff r pathetic.
