DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Kyle Busch might be confused with a Seattle Seahawk for a day.
No, he's not trying to become a duel-sport athlete.
Busch has to wear a Seahawks jersey and hat after losing a Super Bowl bet to fellow NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.
Kahne knew early in Seattle's rout of the Broncos that Busch would have to pay up and dress like a Seahawk. Busch attended the game at MetLife Stadium and rooted for the Broncos, his favorite team since he was a kid. He once waited on line to get John Elway's autograph at a car show.
Kahne threw a Super Bowl bash as his house, going wild with each Seattle score.
"We had a blast," Kahne said. "My family is all Seahawks; and then most of my friends that were over were Denver Broncos. So I didn't want to have to listen to them the whole game, so the way it worked out from basically the first 10 seconds, they were quiet the rest of the game and we got to be loud and enjoy it."
Busch already ordered a Russell Wilson jersey and Seahawks hat and wore them on the plane ride to Daytona International Speedway for media day. He said he will wear the outfit publicly to settle the wager.
The Seahawks tweeted a photo of a No. 18 Busch jersey to both drivers that said, "Speedweek has never looked so good."
"I don't care, it's fine," Busch said. "I'm going to be the one getting photographs taken of me in a jersey, so more publicity for me."
Kahne compared winning a Super Bowl to winning a race- it sure feels good, but it's time to move on.
"You win a race and instantly you're looking at the next one and how we can do well there," he said. "Just this week I've talked two or three times to people about what they're doing for next year and how they're going to be just as good. It's pretty exciting."
